What Is the Project About?

The BEES project is about inspiring older adults (60+) to take action against biodiversity loss and climate change. Through hands-on learning activities in nature and digital storytelling, participants will learn about the environment and how their everyday actions can help protect it.

Although the project’s primary audience is older adults, it also involves our local school community and parents, encouraging intergenerational learning and promoting sustainability at the community level.

What Will Happen During the Project?

  • Environmental Learning Activities (ELAs) – nature-based workshops and field trips for older adults to explore environmental issues and simple ways to make a difference.

  • Digital Storytelling Workshops – participants will learn to use phones or tablets to document their experiences and share their stories.

  • A Methodology Guide – a simple handbook for running these workshops with adults.

  • An International Learning Event in Spain – where project partners will test and share ideas.

  • An Exhibition in the Czech Republic – showcasing the work of local participants.

Who Is Involved?

This is a partnership project between organisations in Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic, including our own parent association:

  • LernBar Europa e.V. (Germany – Coordinator)

  • Spolek rodičů, dětí a přátel školy při ZŠ Dobrá Voda u Č. B. (Czech Republic)
  • European Learning Centre (Spain)

Why Does It Matters for Parents and Our School?

This project is a wonderful opportunity for our association to play an active role in promoting sustainability within the local community. By participating in an international partnership, our school and town gain visibility at the European level, showing our commitment to environmental education and community engagement. The project will offer chances for parents and local residents to join activities or attend events, creating meaningful ways to connect across generations. Most importantly, students will benefit from growing up in a community that values and acts on environmental awareness and lifelong learning.
