What will you learn at the talks?

Talks with parents offer a unique opportunity to explore different professions and learn about the various paths people take to reach them. Participants gain insight into what a typical working day looks like in different fields, what skills and education are required, and what challenges and rewards each profession brings. The sessions also help develop a better understanding of career planning, the opportunities available in today’s job market, and the steps that can already be taken to move closer to one’s professional goals.

What activities will we be working on?

Students meet parents who share their career journeys — what they studied, how they started out, what they enjoy about their work, and how they continue to develop professionally. Students have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss different work experiences, and reflect on the values, interests, and skills that are important in various professions. The talks take place in classrooms during lessons, giving everyone a chance to participate and engage in personal conversation.

More Information

The talks take place several times throughout the school year, arranged individually between parents and teachers. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes — one class period — and focuses on a different field, ranging from trades and healthcare to technology, creative industries, and the humanities. The aim is to inspire students to explore their own paths and help them gain a better understanding of the world of work.
